Death is Part of the Adventure: With each death, you return to your home island, where you can permanently upgrade or consider your strategy for the next day. The basic gameplay is easy to pick up. Yet the fights can still become fairly intricate. Given that there is no timer and any action ends your turn, combat has a noticeable puzzle element and it pays off to plan a couple turns ahead. The in-run upgrades are interesting, offering various gameplay-altering abilities and combo opportunities. Unfortunately the permanent upgrades are mostly percentage based bonuses. So far I have completed 2 worlds and reached the third.
