Öoo” is a charming yet mysterious exploration puzzle platformer where you discover creative ways to use bombs! A perfectly flowing sequence of ingenuous puzzles with the sort of charming presentation that cushions your head as you bang it against the wall trying to figure out a puzzle solution. I’ve never seen a more effective game design where the ‘power ups’ are more about game knowledge than anything else, and it’s all structured in a way it does an excellent job teaching you what needs to be done within the limited scope of actions and interactions available. This game is incredible for the price. While it is short (took me less than 2 hours even when getting stuck), the game provides a really fun experience. The game is great at leading the player along a journey to discovering more and more puzzle solving techniques without the need for tutorials. Avoiding spoilers, I’ll just say that the ending sequence is incredibly well-designed and will make you feel like you’ve come a long way in just a couple of hours. Öoo is a charming puzzle platformer with a pretty elegant ruleset centered around bomb usage, the main path is pretty easy but there are quite a bit of secret rooms that will test your understanding of the mechanics and their edge cases.
